Northern Ireland has stunning special places: the cliffs and beaches of the North Coast, Fermanagh’s lakelands, the Mountains of Mourne, the Sperrins, cities like Belfast and Derry~Londonderry with their fine architecture. How precious to you is the place where you live and enjoy with your family?
The places which you care about could be under threat from a Planning Bill which is going through the Assembly NOW! Changes to the Planning Bill are essential, to deliver a planning system better for everyone.
The Planning Bill contains two proposed clauses which put too much emphasis on 'promoting economic development' over sustainable development. We should all welcome the introduction of a more effective system of planning. However we need one that ensures a fair and balanced approach to economic, environmental and social issues, and supports economic development which takes all three into account.
This is also an ideal opportunity to bring in protection for World Heritage Sites and their settings in Northern Ireland, which includes the Giant’s Causeway and the countryside immediately around it.

What we do
We aim to keep Northern Ireland’s places special and make changes to planning law to protect them now, and forever.
